What is a mobile mechanic, and how does mobile auto repair work?
A mobile mechanic brings the shop to your location. I arrive in a fully equipped service truck with tools, diagnostics and common parts, then perform the repair in your driveway, at your dock, on your job site or in your garage. You skip the tow truck and the waiting room.
What areas do you travel to for mobile mechanic service?
I service a 25-mile radius around St. Michael, MN, including St. Michael, Albertville, Otsego, Monticello, Buffalo, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Rogers, Hanover and surrounding communities. Not sure if you're in range? Text (218) 232-3661 and I'll confirm.
What are your mobile mechanic hours?
Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Saturday and Sunday are by appointment only. Need a different time? Ask — I'll accommodate when I can.
What types of vehicles and equipment do you repair?
Cars and light trucks, boats and marine outboards, ATVs, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, snowblowers, generators, pressure washers, chainsaws and most small-engine equipment. I also handle light construction and property projects.
How do I book a mobile auto repair appointment?
Start by texting (218) 232-3661 for a free phone consultation. Once we confirm the project, you can schedule online at bayonwheels.com/book and pick an open slot from the live calendar. You can also upload photos of the problem when you book.
Do I need to be present while the repair is being done?
You or another responsible adult should be available when I arrive, and I may need the keys or access to the equipment. For some longer jobs, you don't have to stand outside the whole time, but I do need a way to reach you with questions.
What should I expect during a mobile mechanic visit?
I'll confirm the issue, inspect the vehicle or equipment, give you an upfront estimate and get approval before starting work. Most repairs are completed on site. If a part or special tool is needed, I'll tell you before anything is ordered.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, check and major credit cards. Payment is due when the job is complete, unless we agree on a different arrangement for larger projects.
Do you offer fleet or commercial mobile maintenance?
Yes. I maintain work trucks, trailers and small equipment fleets so your crew stays productive. Fleet accounts can book recurring service and receive itemized summaries for record keeping.
Can you handle marine and motorsports repairs at my location?
Yes. I work on outboards, boat trailers, ATVs, side-by-sides, dirt bikes and snowmobiles at your home, cabin, storage unit or trailhead when safely accessible.
What if you need a part that isn't on the truck?
I carry common wear items and fluids. If a specialty part is needed, I'll diagnose the problem, tell you exactly what's required and either pick it up or have it ready for the next visit.
Is there a diagnostic fee?
Diagnostics are included with the repair when you move forward. For complex electrical or engine issues that require extended troubleshooting, I'll quote the diagnostic time upfront.
Do you guarantee your work?
I stand behind my repairs. If something isn't right, call or text and I'll make it right. Warranty details depend on the part and the job, and I'll explain them clearly before you approve the work.
Can I get an estimate before you come out?
Absolutely. Text photos and a description to (218) 232-3661 and I'll give you a rough idea of the cost and time needed. Final pricing is confirmed in person after inspection.
